The Dodecahedron

John Bland a mason and a dry stone waller and who graduated of Algonquin college and has taken his craft in creative direction. Inspired by James Parker he has built a slate dodecahedron out of slate.
John says he loves the thinking/design process and the fabricating and laying out of the templates and guides. Although it is cemented together with thin set, John designed this so that it can be taken apart in sections.
Congrats John! You are certainly a talented and creative guy.

  1. This is a brilliant thing and JB a brilliant (and twisted) guy. This reminds me of a string game I played with my sisters on long car rides when I was a kid... long before iPads and portable dvd's!! One kid has a pattern of string in their fingers and the next kid has to figure out how to transfer it onto their fingers in a new pattern. Not sure I could do it today. Here it is.. http://www.alysion.org/figures/catcradle.htm
