Rock-Paper Fissures

I came across some unusual outdoor 'wallpapering' while walking a coastal trail in Victoria B.C. yesterday.

The large metal doors which lead to some sort of underground public works building had been pasted with a life-size photo-replica of the same stone veneer surrounding the doors.

It was remarkable that the municipality had gone to such trouble to blend in the huge industrial doors with the mortared stonework on the rest on the building.

Why, or how, anyone would attempt to climb shiny photos of a rock walls is beyond me. There are just no cracks or fissures in the Rockpaper to get any purchase!
