Drawing a blank
can be a very creative thing.
It can lead to new ideas,
If we are given a blank in scrabble
it opens a world of possibilities
A blank cheque
gives you financial freedom
A blank page
can be filled with all sorts of creativity
Blank verse
can become beautiful poetry

But in walling it's difficult to fill in the blanks.
We have to use what we have.
We can't make things up !
We choose from a random pile of stones
We order them to make a wall
The stones are found - not made to order.
